Five New Athletic Conferences Join Coalition Calling for Federal NIL Legislation

Coalition for the Future of College Athletics Expands to 33 Members

Washington, D.C. (November 16, 2023) – The Coalition for the Future of College Athletics (C4FCA) today announced the additions of five college athletic conferences. The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association, Coastal Athletic Association, Great American Conference, Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, and South Atlantic Conference have all joined the coalition in an effort to encourage Congress to act swiftly.

These new additions bring the coalition to a total of 33 members spanning across Division I and Division II and include Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), further demonstrating the groundswell of support for federal name, image, and likeness (NIL) legislation.

C4FCA launched on November 1 and is mobilizing grassroots supporters across the country to provide a uniform NIL standard and create a level playing field. For the first time, there is real momentum building on Capitol Hill to pass fair and forward-looking legislation for collegiate sports.

The recent additions to the coalition are just the latest sign of growing support for federal NIL legislation. A recent Senate Judiciary Hearing echoed C4FCA’s call for action and movement on securing the future of college sports.
